The media reports in England claim that Leeds United are monitoring Hull City winger Keane Lewis-Potter. It seems the Elland Road club have another attacking transfer target to consider during this summer’s transfer window.
Lewis-Potter enjoyed an impressive campaign as Hull City returned to the Championship last season, scoring 12 goals and providing three assists for the Tigers while appearing in every league game.
Leeds United are keeping tabs on the attacker’s situation. The Hull City star could be considered a potential replacement for Raphinha, who continues to attract the attention of big sides, with a move away from Elland Road looking imminent.
Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips are subject of interest from several top sides, with the duo likely to move on this summer. And Leeds are already under pressure to replace them and bring in quality players that may help them fight the challenges in the Premier League.
With Leeds expected to bring in big money if they sell Raphinha and Phillips, they could certainly afford the likes of Lewis-Potter and other players in the window. Jesse Marsch’s side could launch a concerted effort once the departures are finalised.
More clubs are in the race
Lewis-Potter had been previously pursued by West Ham United and Brentford and is one of the hottest young prospects in the market. However, Hull City are likely to cash in on the 21-year-old, with the attacker entering the final year of his contract, although they have an option to extend it for one more season.
West Ham United are still tracking Keane Lewis-Potter, who was named Hull’s Player of the Year, Players’ Player of the Year and Supporters Player of the Year for 2021/22.
The 21-year-old versatile forward is attracting a number of Premier League clubs – Brentford, Brighton, Bournemouth, Southampton and Wolves, among others, but the Hammers remain firmly in the mix for his signature.
Lewis-Potter scored 12 Championship goals last season, and his signing could add further firepower to a Hammers side that will be playing European football for a second consecutive season in 2022/23.
Leeds’ bid for Otavio rejected
Portuguese media reported that Leeds United have seen a 26 million pound bid rejected by Portuguese champions FC Porto for Otavio. The assist machine is just the latest of a number of players linked with Leeds United.
The 27-year-old has been a mainstay of FC Porto’s side since joining the club back in 2014. Since then, he has won three Liga NOS titles – playing 237 times in the process. He is an assist machine, with 62 in that time.
